Bennett James Crop

Our sweet baby boy made his debut on Tuesday, September 10th, 2013. On Monday I had seen my OB and we discussed me being induced on the 12th (thursday) I was SO excited because I had such a terrible experience with Carson I wanted to plan out as much as possible :) I had planned on getting so much done around the house before baby came but apparently he had his own plans and I was just along for the ride.

Monday night I started to have pretty intense contractions. I was sure if we showed up to the hospital though they would send me home so I toughed it out all night long. Around 6:30 in the morning I woke Adam up to see what he thought we should do. At this point contractions were about 3-4 minutes apart. He thought it was better to go to the hospital and at least see where I was at etc.. Luckily our babysitter was awake and was willing to take Carson so we dropped him off and headed to the hospital. I didn't even bring our bags because I was sure they were going to send me home.

We arrived and I was dilated to a 3 and again after hearing that I was sure we were heading home. My doctor wanted me to stay and be monitored for an hour and we would determine if I could be admitted or not. In that hour I progressed to a 5 and he wanted me admitted! YAY!!!

The anesthesiologist came in and to say I was scared is a serious understatement. I told him about my spinal catheter last time and he reassured me I wouldn't be experiencing that again. He was amazing!! I felt no pain and more importantly NO headache!!! My doctor had patients until 1pm that day so he didn't want to start pitocin or anything like that until he got there. He came around 2pm and I had progressed to a 6. He broke my water but kept telling me that the baby wasn't as low as he would like so it may be a little of a wait. An hour later I was fully dilated and baby was down.

I pushed 3 times and our sweet baby was here!! He weighed 8lbs 6oz and was 19 inches long. He came with a full head of brown hair which surprised all of us. Carson was a toe head. My  recovery has been wonderful! I don't know if its because last time was so awful but I am feeling great! I even left the hospital after a day because baby and I were doing great and I just wanted to be home.

Carson has been doing so great as a big brother. I was nervous he would jealous etc but he sure loves "Baby Bennett" When Carson came to the hospital the day we had Bennett he would take everyone to the nursery and show them his baby. When Adam took Carson home for the night he cried because he wanted baby Bennett to come with him :)

Carson was so excited to bring Bennett home!
